Backup
Keep a safe copy.
Everything lives in this browser, and optionally online too. Download a backup regularly, and keep it somewhere safe.
Online backup
A free online copy using Firebase — works alongside everything else rather than replacing it. This file connects to the school's Firebase project on its own; there's nothing to paste in on a normal computer. It shares that project with the fee tracker and report cards app, each keeping its own separate records there.
Online backup is turned off on this computer.
Use a different Firebase project instead
Connected to Firebase project . Every change syncs on its own, and other computers see it within a second or two — there's nothing to click day to day. "Sync now" just forces a check this instant.

Restore
Load a backup file. This replaces everything currently in the tracker, so download a fresh backup first if you are unsure.
Start over
Wipe every expense from this browser. There is no undo.
Tip: this file is self-contained. Copy expense-tracker.html onto a USB stick or another computer and it will run there too — but the records stay with the browser they were entered in, so move them across with a backup file.
